LKN Garden Center and Market owner, Amanda, grew up learning from her grandparents about plants and gardening, which grew into a respect for the earth beyond just its plants, and the importance of biodiversity, harmony, and connectivity with nature. This understanding is a mainstay of her design principles.
An experienced gardener and grower, intimately familiar with the Mooresville/Lake Norman microclimate, she began accepting design projects beyond friends who knew of her talents, and areas beyond the Lake Norman area. Finding plants that were grown without pesticides and excess manipulation was difficult and often impossible, so she decided to hang out her own shingle and open a garden center to support her now blooming landscape design business.
Owner and operator of Garden Shed 'n More off River Hwy. in Mooresville, NC, for over 15 years, Amanda opened LKN Garden Center and Market off Mecklenburg Hwy. in Mooresville when her shop’s land was bought by the state and she had to find a new home for her garden shop.
LKN Garden Center and Market cares for its plants without use of harmful chemicals, and buys only from established, reputable nurseries that grow pesticide-free plant material. You can be assured your plants will safely feed our beloved hummingbirds, butterflies, bees, and all pollinators safely.
As important as quality plant material is, plant education is just as important. Here at the shop, at a homeowner association meeting, or on a site with a homeowner, we continuously educate consumers about plant needs and responsible, successful, and sustainable growing practices.
